MY TAKE ON: MARRAKECH, MOROCCO
Like all places I have travelled to, Morocco is a beautiful and rustic country. I went to Marrakech in particular and instantly I understand why this was such a popular destination. For my visit I wanted it to be a little different to what I have seen of Marrakech so far. I wanted to make sure that I visited and experience certain key things to me personally. So I have decided to start sharing that with you guys. Previously, I have posted my photo diaries but wanted to give it a bit more depth for you guys. I've always done looks for when I have been abroad and that continues. Whether it's for those who are planning on going, are already going to those who just want inspiration for what to wear or where to potentially go, I'll be sharing that with you! Make sure to keep an eye out for the 'MOROCCO: LOOK' mini series that are also on my blog.
Briefly, if you speak a little bit of french then that's a bonus! It'll help you out when negotiating. Yes, in Morocco you got to negotiate otherwise you'll get ripped off. Like most countries in Africa it's rather similar. You have to consider that they are trying to make a living themselves so having a endearing and friendly approach will definitely help! It was alright for me as I speak french already and I'm half Ivorian, so it was something I was familiar with. In terms of spending money, Marrakech is not expensive, especially if you negotiate well and don't blow all your money on fancy restaurants etc. I would advice to just take a small amount of money to exchange at the airport in Marrakech as it wouldn't be worth trying to convert left over money back to your currency.
